Current Drought Monitor

The most recent U.S. Drought Monitor report shows that most of the North Central and West Central Corn Belt regions are experiencing drier conditions than the previous year. With the exception of parts of Kansas, much of the region has either worsened or remained nearly unchanged in terms of drought severity. However, above-average rainfall in mid-May has significantly improved drought conditions in Nebraska.
